Year 5 Trip to the Gurudwara 5R & 5YR

June 10 | All day
Dear Parents/ Carers, Over the course of this term, the children have been learning about Sikhism, as well as embedding British Values and religious ways of life. Our R.E curriculum provide the children with exciting enrichment opportunities to visit a place of worship. Therefore we have organised an exciting trip to the Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Hounslow to have a tour and to find out more information about how some Sikhism followers practise their religion. The dates for the trips are as follows: Thursday 9th June 5P and 5W and Friday 10th June 5R and 5YR. The children will be leaving school at 9:50am and will be walking to Feltham Train Station to get a train to Hounslow. We will have a short walk from the station to the Gurudwara where we will be welcomed with a snack and a drink. After a tour and a workshop, the children will arrive back at school at approximately 2:00pm. Pick up time will be normal time (3:15pm). On the day, all children need to be wearing full school uniform and all children need to bring a lightweight scarf (their hair must be covered) which they must wear when entering the Gurudwara as a sign of respect. After the session, all children will eat their lunch in a designated area before we make our way back to school. Therefore, all children must bring in a packed lunch on that day. If your child receives Free School Meals, please email Mrs Lloyd if you require a packed lunch. The trip is free of charge therefore no payment is required just your consent is needed on School Gateway by Monday 6th June. Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to an exciting day
