World Mental Health Day 2019

World Mental Health

Mental health problems can affect anyone, any day of the year, Thursday 10th October is a great day to show your support for better mental health and start looking after your own well-being. During the day we will be discussing mental well-being with the children in a manner that is suitable for their age and reinforcing strategies already in place at school, to help them tackle any difficulties that arise.

To raise awareness and look after our parents and local community well-being, Oak Hill Academy is running a coffee morning on Thursday morning from 09:00am.   In support of this topic, our local  Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team  will be delivering an overview to children’s mental health. The coffee morning will be a wonderful opportunity for our everyone to get together, share information on this important topic, as well as seek advice or support from our staff and CAMHS visitors.

The Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families has produced a very helpful leaflet to help parents and carers giving useful hints and tips on how to approach the subject with children.  Please access the leaflet on the link below.
