Remeberence Day: Royal British Legion

Twelve children from Oak Hill accompanied two members of staff to Feltham War Memorial on 11th November to lay remberence wreaths and to read some war poetry. Meanwhile, back at school the rest of the children and staff observed a two minute silence.

Summer Fayre July 2016

This year’s Summer Fayre was a traditional affair that celebrated the Queen’s 90th Birthday and what a grand affair it was!

The weather was kind to us and a good time was had by all!
A HUGE thank you to Mrs Lancy, Mrs Middleton-Clifton, Mrs Cooper, Mrs R Thomson, Mrs Clack & Mrs Cockerell who put the whole programme together and worked tirelessly to make this event happen. Also… the endless time given very generously by the following parents/grandparents in order to put on a fantastic Summer Fayre:- Mrs Tate-Burd, Miss Jones, Mrs Willis, Ms Thakur, Ms Hughes, Mrs Crossley & Mrs McMaster and not forgetting the very much appreciated help from all the staff who ran stalls
and from our Site Management team, Mr Graham & Mr Gopal.
A big thank you to our IT support company Trusol who kindly donated an iPad for the Grand Prize Draw!
Special thanks to Mrs Clack’s family who served up tasty delights at the BBQ stall and also to Mrs Kyriacou (former parent of Oak Hill) who very kindly, every year, provides the pony rides.
We have raised £1135.25.

Charity Fundraising

Last term’s charity was the British Heart Foundation; all the children took part in a very energetic Skipathon to see how long they could keep skipping for during an hour’s PE session. This raised a fantastic total of £708.25. Well done everyone!

In addition to this, we held a Crispy Cake Sale on Wednesday 23/03/16 to raise money for a school defibrillator. A generous amount of £59.76 was raised. A BIG thank you to all of you who came to buy the tasty treats on offer. Also, huge thanks to Miss A Penycate & Mrs Y Rice for organising and running this successful event.
In a further bid to raise funds for a school defibrillator, our very own School Business Manager, Mrs R Thomson, will be running in the Windsor Half Marathon 13 mile River Trail Run on 22/05/16.
If you would like to sponsor her, please come the School Office with your donation!

Comic Relief – Thank you for all your support! As a school…

Children accessorised their uniform and wore house colour tops to celebrate Comic Relief and raise money for our nominated Charity this term which is Comic Relief.
We managed to raise £360 from the sale of Red Noses and £228 from children’s dress up donations. We raised a total of £588 and the children had a fun time doing so, taking part in a house competition across their year groups culminating in a ‘dance off’ in the afternoon! Thanks to Miss Taylor and Mrs Thomson for organising a great day!

We are currently Fund Raising For our new reading scheme in our School

We have invested a large amount of money for a proper reading scheme so that every child in Y3 and Y4 can have a reading book to read at home daily. We are going to be asking for your help to raise funds so that we can increase the number and variety of books so children will have more to choose from. This will be the focus for our CET fundraising for the next few terms – we have spent £4000 and need to raise another £4000! With your help over the last year we have managed to buy 2 class sets of iPads which the children love being able to use! We are aiming for all children in Y3 and Y4 to be able to have access to iPads to enhance their learning experience and are going to be offering parents a scheme to help this happen – come to our info event on 9th February to learn more!

cake sale

We made a fantastic £118.60 from our cake sale on Weds 25th Feb. Thank you so much to everyone who donated and helped on the day. Your baking talents are needed again as there will be another cake sale at 3.15pm in the Main Hall on Weds 18th March. Please continue to donate, bake and buy and help support the school to raise funds for the Reading Scheme. Thank You!
