OVERDUE BOOKS: The children have been informed of any overdue library books (and a letter was sent home). If the children do not return the books, there will be a charge of £5 to go towards buying a new one, or you can replace the book. Thank you for your understanding regarding keeping the library going!

All children should be bringing home library books every day (please remind them at home too!). These books will have an Accelerated Reading book level on them, so they are at an appropriate level of challenge for your child. If you have any questions regarding our reading system, please speak to your child's class teacher.

We can’t stress enough the importance of your child continuing their reading learning at home. Even just 5 minutes a night will have a big impact on the progress your child makes. You could listen to your child read (even whilst you make dinner as we know evenings can get busy!), you could read to them (even at Year 5 age, this is still a vital tool) or your child could read independently if they are confident/fluent readers.

We still have over 500 books not returned to the school library. This equates to around £3,000 of school budget if they should need to be replaced.

Children will have been told before the holidays what books are still outstanding and letters asking for reimbursement have been sent out.
If you are unable to return your child’s book you will need to pay £5 for each book. Payments can be made on the School Gateway app or by paying cash to the school office. If paying by cash please put money in an envelope with your child’s name and class and mark it ‘Library book’.
